On this page you will find exhibits and data regarding Northfield Community School's Teacher and Principal evaluation process.

EXHIBITS AND DATA REGARDING TEACHER AND PRINCIPAL EVALUATION
Introduction:

All New Jersey school districts and charter schools are required to provide information about their educator evaluation systems and certain aggregated evaluation data as part of the federal requirements for states receiving funds under Phase 2 of the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund (SFSF) Program.

Goal:

The goal is to enable State officials, parents, local educators and other stakeholders to measure their state’s progress towards improving teacher and principal effectiveness and achieving equity in the distribution of effective teachers and principals. States are required to collect, publish and analyze information about how local education agencies (LEAs) evaluate teacher and principal effectiveness and distribute their highly qualified and effective teachers among schools. Educator evaluation system information will henceforth be collected on a yearly basis and all districts must provide public access to this information by posting it on their websites.

PURPOSE

There is a critical link between effective teaching and students’ academic achievement.

Although, educators have always acknowledged the importance of effective teaching, across our country, a spotlight is being shown brightly on the procedures used for accomplishing teacher observations in an effort to promote professional growth and ultimately, student success.

We present our evaluation procedures by providing a link to the Policy and Regulation for “The Evaluation of Non-Tenured Teaching Staff Members" and “The Evaluation of Tenured Teaching Staff Members”, along with the Teacher Evaluation form used in 2009-10 school year. In addition, you will find the Policyon Principal Evaluation and the principal Appraisal form.
OVERVIEW OF EVALUATION PROCESS

Our teachers and principals are continually working together to improve instruction for student academic growth and success.  Our administration team is in and our of classrooms frequently for a variety of purposes.  One main purpose is to conduct what is coined as the "Three Minute Walk Throughs".  These are in essence continual informal assessment done by administration to see first hand and to identify the excellent instructional strategies and assessment techniques our teachers and staff are implementing.  As a result we share ideas with other teachers and we continually give feedback.  In a formal way, we also have evaluations of teachers accomplished by administrators as outlined within the attached policies available below.
