Storytown login information for 5th grade ILA

As part of our new Storytown ILA series, students have access to their book as well as other resources online.  To access your child's Storytown account, visit https://www-k6.thinkcentral.com/. Then choose your state, district, and school. The username AND password have the following convention:

06ncsXXXX

where XXXX is your child's 4 digit student ID number.  If your child only has a 1 or 2 digit student ID, then use leading zeros to make it 4 digits.

Please note: Your child's username and password are the same.

Congratulations!  Northfield Middle School has been selected to receive the 2009 Community of Caring Outstanding Award from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Center for Community of Caring, University of Utah.

Additionally, Dr. Carol Ferguson has been selected to receive the 2009 Community of Caring Outstanding Administrator Award.

We are receiving this award in honor of modeling the core principles and values of the Community of Caring Program.
Northfield Middle School has been selected as a 2009 New Jersey School of Character for our outstanding character education programs and is a candidate for the 2009 National Schools of Character Award.  Congratulations to our administration, teachers and students!
The iWalk was a great success!  Wednesday, October 8 was a beautiful, sunny day and almost all of our students K-8 walked to school to recognize International Walk to School Day.  The iWalk was the first Community of Caring Tribal Challenge for the Northfield Middle School.

The challenge was to see how many MS students and staff can walk or ride their bikes to school.  The team with the most students and staff walking/riding wins the challenge!  The homeroom teacher with the most students (and themselves) walking wins a pizza party and the teacher wins a $25 Barnes and Noble Gift Card.

The result:
  • 410/475 students or 86% of students present at school today participated
  • 5th grade had 80% participation and Sue Reid's homeroom had 100%
  • 6th grade had 81% participation and Devine and Polak's homerooms tied for most participants
  • 7th grade were the BIG winners with 95% participation and 4 homerooms having 100% participation - Supp, Tobiasen, McClay and Vain
  • 8th grade had 87% participation and Fields' and Petitigout both had 100% participation
  • No count for teachers but there were a lot!
